CECILIA SHANNON (Assistant Manager/Journeyman Stylist)
Having graduated at the top of her class from Est-Elle Academy of Hair Design in Edmonton, Cecilia has worked hard to become a leader among her fellow stylists. She is a two-time participant at Western Canada Fashion Week and has received specialized hands-on training in Core Cutting with Wayne Grund of Surface Hair, as a Master Extensionist with Babe Hair and as a Session Stylist with Kevin Murphy. Her passion for complex colour formulations and stunning blondes has earned her the recognition of her peers and clients alike. Cecilia has enjoyed volunteering her time doing hair at the Children’s Hospital and with Aunts & Uncles At Large; and she continues to spearhead a variety of charity outreach programs on behalf of The Refinery Salon & Spa.
AMY GRABOWSKI (Journeyman Stylist)
Amy joins The Refinery with more than 13 years of experience. After graduating from Delmar College in 2006 at the top of her class she has continued to build her educational portfolio with specialized training by Chi, Sebastian, Matrix, Schwartzkopf, Max Eli, J Beverly Hills and Masaki Inoue. Amy possesses a confident yet gentle approach as she strives to bring out the natural beauty of every client that sits in her chair. She is an excellent listener that pays close attention to detail and is particularly skilled with both short and textured, curly hair styles.

GABBY POTVIN (Journeyman Stylist)
After graduating with honours from John Casablanca Hair Academy in Vancouver, BC in 2006, Gabby was scouted by Kaboom Salon in the trendy neighbourhood of Coal Harbour. Her solid clientele base followed her to Style Lab in Yaletown where she had the opportunity to work under such hair trend influencers as Sally Hershberger, Guy Tang and Leo Toiseco. Gabby continued her education and maintained her skills while taking time to have children and make the move to Calgary. Her return to the salon is topped off with training in lash extensions, hair extensions and a love of creating incredible blondes and working with women to overcome issues with hair loss to help them regain their confidence and identity.
LAUREN CLEVELAND (Journeyman Stylist)
Lauren joins The Refinery from her own home-based salon with more than 16 years of experience in the beauty industry. Having taught as a colour educator for TIGI, Lauren is a trained colour specialist. She believes that a strong client relationship is built by truly listening to her clients and educating them about their hair and the products they use. She feels that the best part of being a stylist comes from the ability to make someone feel beautiful everyday.
MAKAILA BLUMHAGEN (Apprentice Stylist)
After graduating from the Cosmetology program at the Career & Technology Centre here in Calgary, Makaila has been working on completing her apprenticeship hours. She joins us from Esthetica Salon & Spa, and Bijou before that, where she has been honing her skills and building a loyal clientele. Her confident and professional approach will put you at ease that you will be well taken care of.
BROOKE FLEXHAUG (Laser Esthetician)
As an expert on the use of the Venus Versa Concept Laser system, Brooke is excited to offer a wide range of services, from laser hair removal to skin rejuvenation and body contouring. Included in Brooke’s service offering are customized Bioelements facials and chemical peels to keep your skin glowing! You will feel your best after a visit with Brooke.
JENNIFER TRACE (Owner/Journeyman Stylist)

After graduating with Honours from DelMar College in 2006, Jennifer spent the next 4 years honing her craft at a busy salon in North Calgary. She began working from her home-based salon, Echelon Studios, after having her son in 2010 while continuing her education with the latest cutting and colouring techniques. Certifications in Entrepreneurship from MRU, Leadership and Power Communications from Rapport Leadership International and many years of practical management and sales experience have prepared her for the challenge of owning this cutting edge salon. Jennifer is not accepting new clients but will continue to service her existing clientele while handling the day to day operations at The Refinery.
